Welcome everyone to 2022! Let's hope this year is much better than 2021
Now that the joys of the holiday season is behind us, My resolutions for this year are to do more to be nicer to people, and do what I can to make my life filled more with joy and positivity.
From Hobby to Business...
I've been doing photography in some sort of fashion for 35 years. Started with an awesome Nikon FM2 film camera (without the optional 2 film slots LOL). I feel like it's time to step up and take my photography to the next level and actually make a business out of it. My parent LLC will be Kruck Media and will be doing business as Robert Kruck Photography as well as Cyber-Zombie Studio (my cosplay photography brand). I don't expect to make the kind of money that would allow me to quit my job and do it full time, but it would be nice to be able to take advantage of some of the tax laws as a business owner to be able to keep doing what I love. If I can make a few extra bucks while doing it, the better. Plus I am a hell of a photographer, and I hear that from tons of people.
The biggest change will be my philosophy and policy for TFP shoots, especially in the studio. Studio time costs money and therefore the cost of the studio should be split between both model and photographer. Otherwise what is the incentive to shoot in the studio on a TFP basis when I as the photographer have to pay $100-$150 for studio time and the model gets photos for free. That in my opinion is not a fair trade for TFP. I am open minded enough, that if you think you can change my way of thinking, I am definitely open to have that discussion.
